Current Opening: Clerk/Treasurer – VILLAGE OF COBB

POSITION OBJECTIVES

The Village of Cobb (pop. 484) is seeking a full-time municipal government professional to fill the position of Village Clerk-Treasurer, due to retirement. This position is the primary contact at the Village Hall and will report to the Village President. This position is approximately 32 hours per week, with some evening hours for meetings. Candidates with a strong accounting background are encouraged to apply.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Position involves statutory duties of Clerk and Treasurer, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, licensing, election administration, utility administration, budget administration, monthly financial reconciliation, and coordinating efforts of the Village Board and committees. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work independently. Must be able to also work well with the public, have strong oral and written communication skills, and organizational skills. Some evening hours will be required and additional hours during the election season. Office experience is essential, including customer service. Applicant should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Must be able to learn and/or be familiar with utility, tax, and accounting software (QuickBooks, Ascent, UBPro/Workhorse).

BENEFITS

Hourly wage range for this position is $20/hour to $25/hour dependent on qualifications and experience. Benefits include Health, Dental, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, and Wisconsin Retirement System. Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program eligible. Candidates with no prior municipal experience will be required to attend a one week municipal government course held by UW-Green Bay Clerk/Treasurer Institute for a total of 5 years.
